God Answers the Questions of the Heart

Many people have questions about life and God. They wonder where they came from and if God cares. God answers the questions in our hearts. He gave us His Word, the Holy Bible, so we could know the answers. This is not meant to be a complete answer to all the questions, but it shows that God cares and wants us to know and trust in Him.

A. Adoption into God’s family – Where do I belong? We can approach God as our Heavenly Father. (Romans 8:15 & Ephesians 1:5) God is a Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows. (Psalm 68:5) People that put their faith and trust in God are adopted into His family called the Bible believing church.

B. Believe – What can I believe in? What should I put my trust in? “Those who know your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.” (Psalm 9:10)

C. Creation – Where did I come from? “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

D. Destiny – What will happen in the future?
What is in heaven and hell? How can I know for sure I’m going to heaven? (Revelation 21 & 22)

E. Endure – What will last? “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Luke 21:33) The Holy Bible, God’s Word, will last.

F. Forgiveness – Can I be forgiven? The bad things I’ve done feel like a heavy burden. “Praise the LORD who forgives your sins and redeems you from hell and crowns you with love and compassion.” (Psalm 103:2-4) Jesus Christ paid the price once for all. (I Peter 3:18)

G. Gifted – Do I have the ability to excel at something? Can I do something right? God’s Holy Spirit gives us gifts so we can serve Him. (I Corinthians 12:4) We are interdependent with other Christians as part of the church. We are designed and gifted to fulfill a specific role.

H. Help – Who will help me? “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

I. Intimacy – Does God care about me? Does God hear me? “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.” (I Peter 5:7)

J. Joy – What brings joy that will last? “In God’s presence is the fullness of Joy.” (Psalm 16:11) God gives His children what they need to be happy and content.

K. King – Who rules? Who is in charge? “The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.” (Psalm 103:19)

L. Love – Does anybody love me? God loves you and sent His only Son to be punished in your place so you could have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

M. Meaning – What is the meaning of life? Our purpose is to bring glory to God. “All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O LORD: they will bring glory to your name.” (Psalm 86:9)

N. New Life – Can I start over? “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold all things have become new.” (II Corinthians 5:17)

O. Omni – What is the ultimate answer? God is omnipresent, everywhere at once; omnipotent, all-powerful; omniscient, knows everything. “For by Christ all things were created … and by Him all things are held together.” (Colossians 1:16-17)

P. Peace – What brings peace? He who focuses and trusts in God will be in perfect peace. (Isaiah 26:3) “There is no peace, my God says, for the wicked.” (Isaiah 57:21)

Q. Quest – What is worth living for? Jesus gave us the challenge to make disciples of every nation. (Matthew 28:19-20)

R. Relationship – Does God want a relationship with me? “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20) God doesn’t force anyone to go to heaven. God’s love is an invitation that is often rejected.

S. Salvation – Can I be saved from the punishment for my sin against God? Do I have to work for it? “For by grace are you saved, through faith, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

T. Truth – Is there truth? “Your word is true from the beginning: and every one of your righteous judgments endures forever.” (Psalm 119:160)

U. Understanding – What is the source of wisdom? “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10) “The LORD by wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding He has established the heavens. (Proverbs 3:19)

V. Value – Do I have value to God? What has value? “God demonstrated His love toward us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) God knows the worst things about us and loves us anyway. Tell people God loves them.

W. Worship – Who or what should I worship? “If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.” (Deuteronomy 8:19)

X. X-ray – Does God know who I am? “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:13, 14, 16)

Y. Yield – Is there someone more important than me? Who should I yield my pride to? “The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They shall not go unpunished.” (Proverbs 16:5) Fear the Lord your God and serve Him with gladness. (Deuteronomy 6:13, and Psalm 100:2)

Z. Zeal – Is God something to be excited about? Rejoice in the LORD always and again I say rejoice. (Philippians 4:4) Share God’s answers today.
